Title: Yearbook (BHS)

FUNCTION: To supervise all activities relating to the publishing of a school yearbook.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Select students for yearbook positions (preparation of application and interviewing procedures).
  2. Establish working contract with yearbook publisher and photographer.
  3. Establish methods and procedures for soliciting advertisements for the yearbook.
  4. Assist students in the development of a theme end sheets dividers and cover design.
  5. Instruct the students in the procedures of layouts picture cropping and page design.
  6. Assist students in yearbook promotion and collection of yearbook money.
  7. Keep accurate records of all income and expense of the yearbook.
  8. Keep accurate records of all yearbook advertisers.
  9. Assist the students in keeping an accurate record of all persons who have purchased a yearbook.
  10. Assist the students in keeping an accurate record listing of all graduating seniors and ensuring that all graduates appear in the yearbook.
  11. Assist all section editors in the creative development of their section arranging deadlines setting up candid appointment and special events checking rough draft layouts and checking copy for final shipment.
  12. Assume responsibility for adhering to contract agreement and allowing for overrides in the contract.
  13. Assume responsibility for shipments made to the company and for an accurate book count.
  14. Assume total responsibility for the accuracy of all copy and photography that is produced.
  15. Assume total responsibility for editor-in-chief each section editor and staff member.
  16. Assume total responsibility for fulfillment of contractual agreement with yearbook publisher.
  17. Assume responsibility for related duties that may be assigned by the building principal.
  18. Adheres to the adopted policies of the Bellingham School Committee.

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Experience in activities for the yearbook.
  2. Knowledge of contract agreements and record keeping.
  3. Preferably a member of the High School teaching staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Dedication to the service of youth.
  2. Demonstrated ability to relate favorably with staff and students.
