Job Description

Job Title: Site Coordinator/Director - Middle School Academy

Description:

Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Middle Schools the Site Coordinator is entrusted with the overall management of the assigned site. This includes ensuring the safety and well-being of all children overseeing daily activities maintaining accurate records and guaranteeing that the site adheres to YMCA policies state licensing requirements and grant contract standards.

Duties:

  1. Plan and implement weekly activity schedules aligned with YMCA curriculum and grant requirements.
  2. Directly supervise and provide daily guidance to site staff including assistance with evaluations.
  3. Maintain appropriate discipline and manage childrens behavior according to YMCA policies.
  4. Facilitate safe and engaging activities for children ensuring adherence to program methodology.
  5. Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents staff school faculty and principals.
  6. Ensure proper maintenance and organization of school and YMCA equipment supplies and inventories.
  7. Maintain accurate records and data for each child and employee including attendance tracking.
  8. Monitor complete and submit all attendance requirements to the Assistant Director and participant database.
  9. Attend all staff meetings and training sessions including state-mandated courses.
  10. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the school site and YMCA facilities.
  11. Effectively handle all emergency incidents using mature and sound judgment.
  12. Ensure the site meets all YMCA state licensing and grant contract standards.
  13. Promote and market all YMCA programs encouraging family participation.
  14. Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth and implement contract methodology.
  15. Assist in grant monitoring activities and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  16. Schedule and conduct at least quarterly family engagement events to meet grant methodology.
  17. Attend required abuse risk management training and adhere to related procedures.
  18. Report any suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations promptly.
  19. Follow mandated YMCA and grant contracts abuse reporting requirements.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one-year experience in a before or after school setting.
  • Requires completion of all mandatory child care trainings MODS
  • Requires six early childhood credits from an accredited university or hold a CDA or CDA equivalent and Directors credential.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • First Aid CPR & AED required.
  • Prefer knowledge of sports and childrens programming.
  • Strong communication supervisory and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task general record keeping skills and must be capable of resolving conflict.
  • Track record of building relationships with staff volunteers and parents.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds watch listen and facilitate group activities. Must be mentally alert and be able to process and follow directions. May be required to stand for extended periods of time while performing job functions. Required to maintain physical endurance for extended periods of time in all types of weather conditions. Must be alert at all times. Must possess acceptable hearing and visual capabilities in order to monitor environment and childrens wellbeing.

Pay & Perks: Full Time ranging from $17.00-$19.00/hour. YMCA gym membership for you and your household family members health insurance paid time off 75% discount on preschool fees free before/after school care for school-age programs and an employer-paid retirement fund.
