Process Technician T17

Job Summary:Janos Technology a leader in precision optical components seeks a Process Technician to support and improve manufacturing processes for optical products. Responsibilities include creating and updating manufacturing methods implementing process improvements reducing costs and maintaining production documentation.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on support for optical fabrication processes.
  • Create product routings with time and cost estimates.
  • Design and create tooling and fixtures.
  • Reduce scrap improve efficiency cut costs and implement LEAN principles.
  • Use metrology equipment to assess components and processes.
  • Utilize resource planning software to understand cost impacts.
  • Lead and support projects to meet performance schedule and cost goals.
  • Help engineers investigate production failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Initiate and lead process improvement projects.
  • Conduct data analysis root cause analysis and write procedures or test plans.
  • Support other departments to meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with production staff.

Job Qualifications:

  • A.E. in Optical or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred; expectation to achieve BS in engineering if not already obtained.
  • 5 years of related process engineering experience.
  • LEAN training/certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks MasterCAM and MS Office Suite.
  • Advanced metrology measurement abilities required. Ability to learn and understand optical surface metrology methods
  • Knowledge of fabrication methods such as CNC milling lathe and grinding. Diamond turning and/or CNC polishing knowledge a plus.
  • Knowledge of optical military specifications preferred.
  • Programming skills within MS Suite is preferred.
