The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Global Services organization is seeking an Associate or Mid-Level Reliability & Maintainability Systems Engineer for an exciting opportunity with the C-17 Fleet Reliability & Analysis Team in Warner Robins GA or San Antonio TX. The C-17 platform is a mature airlifter for air forces of the United States and allied countries. This position plays an important role in ensuring that C-17 aircraft continue to be reliable and mission capable.
Position Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will perform reliability & maintainability (R&M) Systems Engineering responsibilities in support of our C-17 internal and external Air Force customers. Typical tasks include but not limited to the following:
- Review correct and analyze field maintenance and failure data
- Conduct root cause analysis and high driver analyses
- Perform component and system level reliability analyses for various aircraft systems such as Engine APU Fuel Hydraulic Avionics Flight Controls Structures etc.
- Conduct failure analysis and trending analysis and recommend maintenance operational or process changes to optimize aircraft systems reliability maintainability and availability
- Participate in Integrity Program Working Group Meetings Maintenance Steering Group-3 Meetings Crisis Management Team Meetings Source Maintenance and Recoverability Meetings Deficiency Report Review Board Quarterly Meetings
- Interface with customers and management at major design reviews to provide reliability findings and recommendations
- Provide inputs to proposals. Review subcontractors proposals for reliability program effectiveness
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science
- 2 years of experience in engineering or technical field
- Experience with aircraft systems
- Experience with Failure Mode Effects and Criticality analysis (FMECA) and root cause analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5 years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college university technical school licensing/certification programs etc.) (Mid-Level)
- 5 years of experience in engineering or technical field
- Experience with analyzing field data
- Experience in SQL MS Access and databases
- Knowledge of C-17 aircraft
