POSITION SUMMARY
The Early Education Coach supports the CHS mission by coaching training and mentoring Head Start and Early Head Start site supervisors teachers associate teachers support teachers and other education staff in day-to-day operations of sites and classrooms to ensure Head Start Program Performance Standards are met classroom environments and education practices are high quality individualized developmentally appropriate with a focus on school readiness and social-emotional health and aligned to program performance goal as well as relationship building and supportive practices with adults and families are established and maintained.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate respect for the capabilities backgrounds and cultural differences of families children co-workers and the public consistent with trauma informed practices by maintaining good working relationships between teachers other adults and families as well as child development in the assigned areas considering cultural variables.
Ensure that the standards and regulations of Head Start Performance National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Missouri Childcare Licensing USDA Strengthening Families and others are always met by exhibiting supporting modeling and coaching the use of professional boundaries confidentiality practice and trauma informed approach to education and supporting a positive Safety Culture.
Serve as a coach to EHS/HS staff by providing a comprehensive approach to assessment of classroom environments use of curricula and school readiness planning classroom management strategies teacher and child interactions and engagement.
Ensure that education staff understand and implement appropriate and effective classroom and curriculum practices to support school readiness and family engagement in education practices by initiating and maintaining ongoing comprehensive and responsive coaching practices and trainings based on individual strengths needs and written goals.
Engage with staff to develop support and monitor progress on goals and training plans to ensure education staff meet and maintain Coaching and program performance goals.
Create communication channels by keeping management informed of developments problems personnel concerns and other program related issues with education staff or sites in their assigned area.
Create and demonstrate a climate of ongoing professional development and training non-judgmental evaluation and assessment by using continuous communication that is supportive and outcomes focused.
Provide focus and direction to teaching staff related to child and program performance data and their role and impact on ongoing growth and development of goals related to both.
Provide motivation and support to teaching staff to meet individual goals and program performance outcomes to support staff wellness classroom management and child development outcomes.
Provide ongoing support mentoring and modeling in use of child development screening and assessment tools documentation and data tracking classroom lesson planning and activity and experience provision within teaching practices.
Completes other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED EDUCATION
A minimum of a bachelors degree in early care and education Psychology Human Resources or related field and 4 years of experience working with children and families or supporting adult education.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a valid Drivers license
Must provide proof of personal valid vehicle insurance
Medical exam and TB Assessment prior to start and again every 5 years
Background screenings required prior to start and again every 5 years
Must maintain Infant Toddler CPR First Aid and AED certification
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of Paycom platform Child Plus Creative Curriculum DRDP and Head Start Performance standards

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Travel as needed for site visits meetings training or conferences; some overnight stays possible
The employee is regularly required to sit and use their hands to operate a computer.
The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop bend kneel crouch or crawl and reach overhead daily.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
