Job Description
The EHS Supervisor provides guidance and leadership to internal customers on EH&S matters. Under minimal direction the role supports the Site in ensuring the compliance with EH&S regulations and practices. The role will develop standards and share expertise with other sites. The role may also assist other SC API sites as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Work with the SC API EH&S group to plan and implement all phases of safety industrial hygiene fire protection and emergency response for the site.
- Provides technical EHS support to Operations and Pharmaceutical Development Services including support for site objectives.
- Lead the Florence West site Environmental Health and Safety programs and initiatives.
- Actively participate in reviews for new projects/ processes and modifications to existing projects/processes and recommends improvements.
- Develops and implements EHS Programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develops and implements EHS Training to ensure employee awareness and proficiency.
- Coordinate and perform risk assessments to identify evaluate and recommend controls for safety and health hazards in the workplace; assessments include air sampling and analysis personal protective equipment ergonomics noise ventilation heat stress and indoor air quality. Facilitate site EH&S audits (clients state and federal regulatory agencies insurance companies etc.) and follow up on corrective actions
- Report EH&S Metrics to Corporate and to SC API Group as required.
- Work with Environmental to implement site environmental programs regulatory reporting and recordkeeping.
- Direct day to day duties of the site EH&S Technician.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree or applicable Engineering degree with shown experience.
Experience:
- 5 years of Safety Health and/or Environmental experience
- 5 years of chemical laboratory or pharmaceutical work experience
Equivalency:
- Equivalent combinations of education training and meaningful work experience may be considered.
Competencies:
- Proficient knowledge of EH&S regulations.
- Technical ability to coordinate departmental business activities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills leadership motivation and organization skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced diverse environment.
- High integrity for dealing with confidential information. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products (Word Excel PowerPoint).
