The Position Based in Calgary Alberta the Director FP&A is a critical leadership role reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. The Director FP&A will oversee enhance and implement financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities which will support the broader financial strategy of the organization. As a key member of the leadership team the role will be responsible for providing quantitative and qualitative insights to inform business decisions and drive change. The role requires an experienced and self-starting financial professional who can balance strategic vision with operational execution to contribute to the business growth ambitions.
Responsibilities Lead business reviews and prepare monthly analysis on key financial statements and operating results Coordinate quarterly forecasts and annual budgeting process with key divisional leads Develop update and maintain comprehensive financial models to support strategic decision making Enhance existing operational reporting structure and performance monitoring to design and monitor metrics that provide actionable insights into financial and operational performance Establish systems for tracking progress against forecasts and identifying areas requiring intervention Lead financial and operational process improvement activities and other special projects across Oakcreeks Canadian and US business divisions Own business case development to evaluate strategic / growth initiatives Play a key role in evaluating assessing and executing on M&A opportunities and managing post-acquisition integrations Prepare presentations insights and make recommendations to senior management and external stakeholders to guide strategic decision making Support monthly and quarterly executive and board meeting materials Play a key role in ERP implementations that are ongoing in our US divisions Champion the Analytics module of our ERP system and lead the development of dashboards for key users
Profile Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or related field CPA or CFA designations preferred but not required Minimum of 5 7 years of experience in accounting financial planning and analysis or related finance Equipment distribution industry experience an asset Previous transactional / M&A experience an asset Strong proficiency in financial modeling forecasting and budgeting techniques. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Excellent analytical problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to maintain a view of the big picture Ability to work independently and drive projects across an organization
