As a Technical Officer you will:
- Provide technical support for teaching programs including setup and maintenance of specimens mannequins clinical equipment and molecular biology materials.
- Coordinate equipment and materials for practical classes resolving technical issues to ensure smooth operations and meet staff and student needs.
- Manage documentation track progress and proactively address issues to meet agreed timelines and standards.
- Advise staff and students on the safe use ordering and disposal of chemicals biologicals and equipment.
- Ensure a safe and efficient working environment through regular inspections housekeeping and adherence to OH&S requirements.
To be successful youll have:
- Completion of a Degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or
- Completion of an Associate Diploma and at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or
- Completion of a Post-Trades Certificate or Advanced Certificate and extensive relevant experience as a Technician; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Experience working in a laboratory setting ideally within a tertiary education environment.
- Good knowledge of OH&S (Occupational Health and Safety) principles and an understanding of the requirements for safety when working with biological and chemical hazards.
