Work Schedule: 40 hours to be worked per week September-May 320 hours to be worked June-August; the standard 40-hour work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; variations to this schedule (for FTE less than 1.0) or flexible work arrangements can be proposed and are subject to approval by HR and relevant supervisors; travel up to 5% of the work schedule which includes local (Twin Cities metro area) and national travel; overnight trips average 2-3 trips per year.
Salary Range: $56000 - $63000
Essential Job Duties:
- Provide industry-specific one-on-one career coaching and group programming.
- Meet and build meaningful relationships with students interested in careers in business coaching in other related fields may also occur.
- Help students create strong application materials network effectively and prepare for interviews.
- Collaborate with peer advisor and operations student staff to develop a marketing and outreach strategy to effectively engage students interested in business careers and position opportunities to the appropriate students.
- Lead and manage developmental business career readiness program.
- Support student career development and discernment in business by connecting existing and/or building new programming and intentional career coaching to form a cohesive program.
- Lead student-facing elements of programs related to business; partnering with Piper Center and other college staff as appropriate.
- Provide guidance and leadership regarding career-relevant credentials in business.
- Manage the Finance Fast Track Opportunity.
- Lead collaborations with key campus departments and pre-professional clubs.
- Serve as the liaison to the Business & Management Studies Department.
- Partner with faculty to develop opportunities to integrate business career development into relevant courses; Support Business Managements Senior Capstone Project. Develop and deliver presentations within courses on career-related topics.
- Lead career initiatives with the St. Olaf Athletic Department and student athletes including the Ole Leadership Academy for sophomore athletes.
- Collaborate with key pre-professional clubs related to business careers to provide strategic advising related to club programming in furtherance of student career discernment and readiness.
- Support student-facing elements of campus recruiting activities.
- Develop knowledge of key employer partners and industry areas that commonly hire St. Olaf students.
- Position promote and prepare students applying to opportunities offered by key employer partners related to business.
- Build a working knowledge of key St. Olaf alumni connections in business.
- Assess and continuously improve business program offerings; draft reports as needed.
- Support respect and commit to embracing diverse backgrounds values and points of view to build a strong and inclusive community.
- Complete and meet deadlines for required training and performance management cycle.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received and Exercised:
- Reports to the Senior Associate Director Employer and Alumni Relations.
- This position does not supervise staff or students.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree; Maintain a valid drivers license and meet St. Olaf College driver authorization criteria with a satisfactory driving record.
- Experience: 2 years of career coaching experience higher education experience or equivalent experience in business/corporate environments with a background in career development program management business development training executive coaching recruitment university relations talent acquisition or human resources.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Masters degree (M.B.A. M.A. . other).
- Experience: 5 years of higher education experience in career development or experience coaching clients or customers. Experience working with undergraduate students; familiarity with career development/counseling theories and methods; specialized knowledge of business/corporate fields.
