Job Description

Classification Title:

Admissions Officer II

Masters degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Job Description:

The UF Online OneStop team is seeking a detail-oriented individual to manage the process of admitting students into our online programs. As an Admissions Officer II youll be responsible for processing applications reviewing documents and making admissions decisions. Youll work closely with the UF Online Recruitment & Outreach Center to ensure a smooth admissions process for our applicants. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills attention to detail and a commitment to student success.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Admissions Review & Processing

  • Review UF Online and readmissions applications including GPA calculation and prerequisite evaluation.
  • Conduct both criteria-based and holistic reviews rendering admission decisions for pre-approved programs.
  • Use professional judgment to assess academic performance and escalate concerns to the appropriate college.
  • Interpret and apply institutional and program-specific admissions policies.
  • Meet or exceed weekly review goals while working independently.
  • Process incoming UF Online applications ensuring all required documents are complete based on applicant type and program.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of academic programs degrees and entrance requirements.
  • Review and evaluate documents for completeness and compliance with residency and immigration regulations.

Credential & Support Services

  • Review domestic and international credentials; communicate requirements and make admissions decisions or referrals.
  • Assist OneStop staff with escalated admissions-related inquiries via phone and email.
  • Provide training and reference materials; participate in committees Q&A sessions and cross-functional events.
  • Handle complex or escalated admissions situations.

Other Duties

  • Manage admissions data in Slate and Campus Solutions ensuring accuracy and reconciliation between systems.
  • Stay up to date on university policies admissions procedures and state regulations through ongoing training.
  • Contribute to training efforts for staff and support office-wide initiatives.
  • Support additional office functions as needed including occasional travel for recruitment or development.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor.

This position is located at the University of Floridas main campus in Gainesville FL. The selected candidate will work on site and may be eligible for a flexible hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Managements policies.

Expected Salary:

$47500 annually

Required Qualifications:

Masters degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred:
  • Knowledge of methods of compiling organizing and analyzing data
  • Ability to establish work priorities coordinate the timely completion of work assignments strong organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with customer service and public relations
  • Ability to plan organize and coordinate work and training assignments
  • Experience with Slate and/or PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or other CRM or student information system
