Job Description

Be a Star at the Patel Conservatory within Straz Center for the Performing Arts!

The Straz Centers Patel Conservatory is looking to fill the role of Community Engagement Coordinator Partnerships. This unique role contributes to the mission and vision of Straz Center by building community awareness of the Arts and by increasing opportunities that provide unique and diverse experiences for the community at large.

This position serves as a liaison between the community and Straz Education and may represent Straz Center and Patel Conservatory on special projects and various community committees. This position drives awareness through the creation development data tracking and implementation of outreach programs and services including but not limited to: Community Engagement Program Opera in Schools and Day at the Straz.

Essential Functions:

  • Designs and implements partnership program offerings with approximately 40-50 Community Engagement sites throughout Hillsborough County including site visits and consistent communication. (Reliable transportation is required.)
  • Serves as a point of contact for Straz Education to community businesses agencies organizations groups and schools.
  • Seeks opportunities to inform the community of available educational opportunities and programming to include but not limited to scholarships attending performances or dress rehearsals and participate in workshops and master classes.
  • Partners with Development to report on program deliverables relevant to any donor funder grants or sponsorships.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position hires supervises and schedules Community Engagement Instructors.

Education Work Experience Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to effectively represent the Conservatorys priorities agenda policies and positions to third parties.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills. Must be able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus.
  • Must be able to pass a level 2 fingerprint screening.

Travel:

  • Local travel is expected for this position.

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to communicate over the phone. The employee is frequently required to traverse the facility exchange information and operate equipment.
  • The employee is occasionally required to move up to 25lbs ascend/descend/balance atop ladders position oneself to move /move in confined spaces and reach.
  • The nature of this job requires the employee to work on-site as a regular work routine.
