Job Description

The Tufting Plant Managerreports to the Senior Director of Operations of the Dalton Campus. In this role he/she will oversee all aspects of the Tufting plant manufacturing operations.

This individual will effectively lead team members in safely meeting quality and production requirements to meet customer expectations while executing our strategy aligned with our vision mission and objectives. He/she will proactively lead support train coach and direct the team to execute operational plans. The Plant Manager must drive continuous improvement while sustaining effective relationships with team members. The Plant Manager will properly maintain records reports and data collection in a timely and complete manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safety:Ability to build a culture of safety and trust within the facility to help ensure a safe work environment of team members.
  • Quality Control:Adherence to PFMEA/Control plans to quality standards through inspections and audits and ability to improve our quality systems through root cause problem solving and corrective action.
  • Budget Management:Responsible for building and managing plant budget and taking corrective actions as volume shifts to maintain targets. Ability to analyze and understand cost levers and to drive countermeasures to control cost as volumes shift.
  • Cost Management:Develop and implement strategies to reduce operating costs and improve efficiency on the manufacturing floor.
  • Production Oversight:Along with the Production Manager plan and execute production schedules. Monitor manufacturing processes and ensure production targets are met.
  • Team Coaching/Development:Coach and develop a team of salaried and hourly team members. Empower the team to act as business owners to drive continuous improvement by providing guidance and training.
  • Communication and Collaboration:Ability to clearly communicate both directions within the organization through both written and verbal communication skills. Facilitate communication between departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Equipment Maintenance:Ensure that assets are properly maintained through preventative maintenance activities to ensure reliable operations.
  • Data Analysis:Ability to clearly define the problem to be solved and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to make informed decisions and take decisive action.
  • Regulatory Compliance:Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and industry standards.

  • Leadership:Motivate and guide teams to achieve production goals.
  • Communication:Effectively communicate with employees supervisors and other stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving:Identify and resolve issues that arise during production.
  • Organizational:Manage time resources and tasks effectively.
  • Analytical:Analyze data to identify trends and make informed decisions.
  • Technical:Understanding of manufacturing processes equipment and safety regulations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in business Engineering or another related field preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in managing teams
  • Strong interpersonal effectiveness (listening open to others empathy people developer supporter/encourager of people and ability to challenge).
  • Effective communicator both written and verbal to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to influence motivate and lead a team.
  • Good balance between conceptual/overall vision and detail thinking/pragmatism.
  • Fluent in English. Ability to speak Spanish is plus.
  • Highly motivated.
