Medicine Support Room Administrator -Medicine interviews 2026 Cycle

Start Date:22/04/25
End Date: 31/07/2026
Working Hours:Varies between 8.00 am to 5.30 pm
Pay Rate: 12.21 per hour plus holiday pay
Location: Online
Dress Code:Smart Casual

Role description

Summary: You and your fellow medicine students will be hosting a Post interview Support and Information session. This requires you to participate fully in a role that requires good communication and listening skills to candidates who have just completed an interview for a place on our Medicine course. This is an optional welfare channel for candidates to access immediately after their medicine interview

You will assist our Admissions Director for Medicine by running our Post Interview Support and Information session:

  • Full instructions to follow for those applicants chosen

Your personal responsibilities

Prior to the interview day

  • Attend the training session
  • Only commit to work the Medicine interview days you are confident you are able to work
  • Provide at least 72 hours notice of not being able to fulfil your role responsibilities on the interview day you have volunteered for by contacting the MHS Student Ambassador Coordinator
  • Have completed all the online training packages provided by the School of Medicine
  • Fully test your equipment MS Teams account and internet coverage to ensure that all will work efficiently for the day ahead
  • Have read and fully understood the information we can share with attendees
  • Have access to a room where you will be alone for the full interview day where you will not be disturbed/interrupted for the duration of the Information and Support sessions
  • Have signed a confidentiality agreement form

On the interview day

  • Register your attendance at the Support and Information session by logging into the MS Teams link provided well ahead of the candidates joining you
  • Work as a team and be consistent with your messaging in the Teams chat ensuring that each question raised either verbally or through text in the chat is dealt with
  • If you are a trained role player you might be required to step in as a reserve role player at any point during the day

Training and support for your role

  • All of our Student Ambassadors will have to have completed both Equality & Diversity and Unconscious Bias training within the last 3 years and GDPR and Safeguarding training within the last year to be able to assist at this recruitment cycles interviews. You will receive a separate email with details of this programme of training once you are selected for the role.
  • If you are helping in a briefing or support room you will attend a briefing meeting where you will be given guidance and early access to the information we are able to share with our candidates.
  • If you are going to be a role player you will also attend a training session duration 2 hours run by our Director of Admissions at a date to be advised.

If you are not able to fulfil these training requirements we will be unable to use you for any of our live Medicine interview events.
