Job Description
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications.
- Ensure accurate medication preparation and labeling.
- Manage inventory levels and perform stock management.
- Operate pharmacy software for filling orders and managing records.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
- Answer phones and respond to customer inquiries.
- Process prescription orders and verify information for accuracy.
- Educate patients on medication usage and potential side effects.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations in medication handling.
- Assist in the training of new staff and interns.
- Monitor and report any discrepancies in medication supplies.
- Participate in continuous education to stay updated on pharmacy practices.
- Support pharmacists in medication reconciliation efforts.
- Help in managing controlled substances and regulatory compliance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program.
- Certification from a recognized pharmacy technician exam (e.g. PTCB or NHA).
- State-specific pharmacy technician license if required.
- Experience in a pharmacy or healthcare environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of pharmacology and medication therapy.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and technology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Capability to follow detailed instructions and protocols.
- Flexibility in working hours including weekends and holidays.
