Position Description

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is looking for a Short-Term (11-month)TEMPORARY or Out-of Class (OOC) Network Engineer(ITP-B BU) for the Risk and Quality Assurance Division. This position will support SPUs crucial Integrated Security Separation Project.

This Network Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and will work to identify and mitigate security risks. This position is a terrific opportunity for a candidate with a high attention to detail ability to work independently within a team and provide a variety of services in varying workplaces.


This Temporary (external)/OOC (internal) position is expected to lastup to 11-monthsand is open to all regular City of Seattle employees as well as external candidates. External candidates will initially be non-benefited and will receive premium pay in lieu of benefits.

Qualifications

ExperienceRequirement: Three (3) to five (5) years experience with Network Engineering/Architecture including responsibilities related to integrated security systems to include intercom and camera systems experience.

Education Requirements:Associates Degree in Computer Science Computer Technology or related Industry Certifications to match time in educational experience.

The full salary range for this position is $52.63 per hour - $79.00 per hour.


Workplace Environment (*Telework Expectation):
This position requires the selected candidate to work five (5) days in-office and the specific schedule will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.
