Job Description
Website Specialist
Part-Time (approximately 20 hours per week) - $20.00/hr - $23.00/hr (DOQ)

Our mission is to provide outstanding parks services facilities and recreation programs that enrich lives promote healthy living and inspire memorable experiences. With over 25 parks and facilities including golf courses recreation centers and pools the Park District employs an average of 300 staff with over 500 seasonally and is dedicated to environmental sustainability and commuter benefits. Recognized for its excellence the Park District holds a coveted AAA credit rating.

What is the opportunity
Join a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing community engagement and promoting Deerfield Park Districts mission through digital media and marketing initiatives. As the Website Specialist youll play a pivotal role in managing our online presence ensuring timely and accurate content on the website. An opportunity to be part of a team that revamps our website.
Key responsibilities include:
Responsible for timely and accurate content on the website.
Work with staff to develop clear attractive and relevant information for posting.
Actively evaluate our program guide and proactively extract information in a timely manner.
Desire to elevate content on various park district websites developing strategies for continuous improvement and efficiencies.
Creates and maintains a website content calendar with events schedules and deliverables clearly delineated.
Key responsibilities include:
Responsible for timely and accurate content on the website.
Work with staff to develop clear attractive and relevant information for posting.
Actively evaluate our program guide and proactively extract information in a timely manner.
Desire to elevate content on various park district websites developing strategies for continuous improvement and efficiencies.
Creates and maintains a website content calendar with events schedules and deliverables clearly delineated.
Collaborate with other departments to provide excellent customer service and assistance.
Demonstrate superior attention to detail follow-through and organizational skills.
Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the enumerated responsibilities.
What qualifications are needed
A minimum of one year of experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign Photoshop Illustrator Adobe Xd); and Microsoft office or equivalent digital marketing editing tools a plus.
Demonstrated experience in WordPress or equivalent website content management platform.
Basic knowledge of editing capabilities in HTML/CSS.
Personally motivated to learn current and newly emerging technology strategies and techniques.
Superior attention to detail.
Well versed in the user experience to ensure ease of use for all users of the website.
Keeps abreast of current design trends marketing and technical software advances.
Ability to work independently prioritize tasks and to successfully handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Ability to work successfully within a multicultural/multigenerational staff and patron population.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
A minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in website management with a focus on the user experience through clarity conciseness and accuracy.
Hunter mentality to scour website to ensure content is accurate clear and timely.
Team player that will partner within the Marketing team along with all staff district wide.
High School diploma or equivalent bachelors degree preferred.
Demonstrate superior attention to detail follow-through and organizational skills.
Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the enumerated responsibilities.

The Website Specialist is a part-time non-exempt position.
Targeted hiring range is $20.00/hr - $23.00/hr based on qualifications & experience.
