Description of Work
This position is located at Granville Correctional Institution in Butner Granville County North Carolina and reports to the Psychological Program Manager. The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct psychological services to include mental health triage/screening crisis intervention and management mental health assessment and treatment planning case consultations with custody and nursing staff psychological testing and restrictive housing reviews and evaluations. The Psychological Services Coordinator provides direct clinical services to the offenders at Granville Correctional Institution and functions as a front-line supervisor for administrative and clinical supervision of the Behavioral Health staff at the facility. The Psychological Services Coordinator will also conduct Community Risk Assessments on offenders with a history of violent and/or sexual crimes. Other responsibilities include participation in the Criss/On-call services for the Granville Hub facilities(Granville and Warren Correctional Institutions) on a rotating basis and potential supervision of support staff. Additional duties may include training of custody and nursing staff program evaluation and other projects as assigned by the Psychological Program Manager.

- Demonstrated experience in interpreting diagnostic findings and preparing comprehensive reports determining and conducting appropriate therapy.

Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina under the provisions of the NC Psychology Practice Act (G.S. 90- 270) and one year of experience providing a full range of psychological testing and treatment preferably in a correctional or juvenile justice program/facility.Supplemental and Contact Information

The team of physicians nurses behavioral health services dental services psychiatric services pharmacy services and licensed healthcare administration services work together to provide emergent acute routine and chronic health care as well as preventive medicine at all prison facilities. They also coordinate with specialists and other clinical consultants outside of prisons throughout the state to ensure comprehensive health and well-being towards a safe transition from prison improving public health and decreasing recidivism.
