Position Overview

The Novelis North America Bay Minette Technical team is looking for a Quality Leader to be located at our new facility in Bay Minette Alabama. This role involves managing and recommending quality initiatives strategies and methods to enhance product and process reliability. Additionally it includes overseeing the department to meet customer requirements international standards and internal quality goals; ensuring the final product quality meets customer expectations.

This position will report to the Technical Manager.

Responsibilities

• Be a role model for safety; demonstrating behaviors that align with the Novelis Safety Absolutes and Safety Principles to build a zero-injury culture.
• Ensure that product quality processes meet customer requirements and standards
• Conduct monitor and ensure the success of customer audits
• Stabilize and improve manufacturing processes and final product quality requiring high flexibility and quick response to internal or external quality incidents.
• Establish implement and monitor EHS program with a high level of environmental health and safety procedures in quality activities.
• Support training programs and develop teams to have a strong quality demeanor.
• Design continuous improvement projects transformation initiatives and set up the six-sigma methodology that will have impacts on product quality.
• Ensure that any technical or process modifications has a controlled impact on the product quality

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelors Degree in an engineering fieldor5 years of aluminum manufacturing experience
• Five years of quality engineering experience
• IATF and ISO Certification
• Knowledge of Quality standards and Lean Manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Automotive Tier 1 experience

Novelis newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile AL and 45 miles west of Pensacola FL and is expected to create approximately 1000 high-paying advanced careers in modern manufacturing. This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kind. It will primarily serve our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
