Job Description

QUALIFICATION

  • EDUCATION: Completed a minimum of a high school diploma; Associate degree preferred with continued employment conditional on successful completion of the Paraeducator Generalist I Certificate
  • LICENSURE: Must have transportation and a valid drivers license
  • EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working with children families and/or school districts is desired

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Follow documented treatment plans developed by the supervising Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing ToDHH.
  • Provides services for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in individual or small group settings with the use of appropriate the modes of communication.
  • Assist with data collection and documentation as directed by the supervising ToDHH.
  • Plan activities that lead to student success on goals.
  • Assist with clerical duties such as preparing materials record keeping safety & maintenance of supplies & equipment and scheduling activities as directed by the ToDHH.
  • Exhibit compliance with regulations reimbursement requirements and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Paraprofessionals job responsibilities.
  • Develops positive relationships with students parents school personnel and professional colleagues.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and information.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

  • Problem solves by utilizing data-based decisions preventing and resolving conflicts and providing comprehensive high quality solutions
  • Works with integrity and maintains confidentiality
  • Models and integrates technology into daily work
  • Leads professional development for at least one course internally externally or both
  • Understands other duties and responsibilities may be assigned according to current needs of the agency or districts served

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel between schools and sites served.
  • Normal routine levels of activity related to bending carrying climbing hearing lifting reaching sitting standing vision and walking and may also involve above-average levels of activity at times that cant always be anticipated.
