The Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) is the states lead division serving people with disabilities committed to diversity equity inclusion accessibility and racial justice. The mission of the Division is to assist individuals with disabilities in achieving their goals of employment education and independent living. This position provides day to day support for the Assistant Superintendents office at the Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and Education Wood Street (ICRE-W) facility preparing a variety of correspondence reports and other information in accessible formats pertaining to services schedules and customer records. This position is the backup receptionist. The Division is seeking to hire an organized and detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills for this position.
Provides complex clerical and paraprofessional functions for the Assistant superintendent at the Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and Education Wood Street (ICRE-W).
Maintains information related to new admissions including the preparation of information to be reviewed by facility staff.
Receives sorts opens and prioritizes incoming mail (both physical and electronic mail).
Serves as back-up receptionist.
Serves as timekeeper.
Performs duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college OR completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experienceOR two (2) years of independent business experience.
Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.
Requires ability to travel for training.
Requires ability to utilize computer software such as Microsoft Office suites in the preparation of reports spreadsheets and presentations.
Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
