Location/Division Specific Information

As part of the Drug Product Division (DPD) the Cincinnati Ohio site is a multi-purpose pharmaceutical development manufacturing and packaging facility. The operation specializes in taking oral solid dose drug products from development phase through to commercialization.

How You Will Make an Impact

Lead EHS DEA and security efforts at our Cincinnati site ensuring compliance with regulations and improving safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop implement and manage EHS policies procedures training and programs to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Lead the investigation of accidents incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit required regulatory reports and documentation.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize EHS risks and prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Implement and lead all aspects of emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing operations including waste reduction energy conservation and pollution prevention.
  • Champion a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the organization.
  • Lead and mentor the EHS team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to integrate EHS considerations into all aspects of operations.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Occupational Health and Safety Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience. Advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or similar certification is strongly preferred.

Experience

  • 10 years of proven track record in Environment Health and Safety in an industrial or related environment required preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • 8 years in a leadership role.
  • Equivalent combinations of education training and meaningful work experience may be considered.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA EPA FDA regulations and other relevant EHS standards.
  • Confirmed experience in developing and implementing EHS programs and policies.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to partner with cross-functional teams and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word Excel PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handle pressure and lead multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent presentation skills.

Physical Requirements

Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations. Ability to stand walk stoop kneel and crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time. Manipulation (lift carry move) of light to medium weights of 1035 pounds. Arm hand and finger dexterity including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time. Visual acuity to use a keyboard computer monitor operate equipment and read materials for prolonged periods of time. Ability to sit reach with hands and arms talk and hear for prolonged periods of time. Safety glasses safety shoes lab coat nitrile or similar gloves safety apron and organic respirator occasionally.
