GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

As a Public Health Nurse in Converse County youll be at the forefront of promoting health and preventing disease within your community. Public Health Nursing is a specialized field that goes beyond traditional patient careits about fostering wellness and resilience across populations. In this role youll work closely with individuals families and groups to identify health needs provide essential healthcare services and connect people with valuable health resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level.


  • Conduct nursing assessments diagnoses treatments and evaluations in line with ANAs Public Health Nursing Standards.
  • Arrange and lead community health clinics and health education classes.
  • Support public health core functions prioritizing services that meet community needs.
  • Administer adult and child vaccines provide STI/HIV testing manage TB testing and more.
  • Provide Ryan White case management maternal and child home visitation lactation counseling and LT-101 reviews.
  • Collaborate with the nurse manager and public health response coordinator on emergency preparedness activities.

Qualifications

PREFERENCES:


Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming.
**A valid drivers license is required.

KNOWLEDGE:



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Associates Degree in Nursing

Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience in Nursing with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN

Certificates Licenses Registrations:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming

OR


Education & Experience Substitution:

3-5 years of progressive work experience in Nursing with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN

Certificates Licenses Registrations:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming
