Job Details:

The Mercer University School of Medicine is seeking a cardiologist to perform full time in a clinical practice at the Mercer Medicine Macon GA location.

This position is expected to maintain a financially viable clinical practice at the Mercer Medicine clinic.



Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

  • Develop and maintain a financially viable pulmonary medicine practice at Mercer Medicine

  • Clinical Care of patients in department including participating with department call schedule if applicable

  • Provide cardiology consultations for Mercer Medicine patients and other patients as requested by community and affiliate hospital physicians.

  • Perform cardiology procedures for Mercer Medicine patients as applicable

  • Actively participate in medical staff and affiliate hospital committees.

  • Complete all medical record documentation requirements as specified in the medical staff rules and regulations on a concurrent basis.

Qualifications:

Candidates must:

  • M.D. degree from an accredited college/university

  • Board certified in Cardiology Medicine/Critical Care

  • Georgia medical license or eligibility for licensure in the State of Georgia

  • Experience in ambulatory practice setting

  • Experience with clinical trials or outcomes research desirable; experience in academic medicine environment highly desirable
