AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN

We are a privately-held independent metal fabrication company that produces components used in a wide range of industries. Our goal is to provide products and services that meet our customers needs in a timely fashion with the highest level of quality and value.

Our capabilities are constantly expanding and currently include metal stamping laser cutting brake forming tubular stamped components CNC and Swiss machined parts wire forms thread rolling weldments and integrated assemblies. Our modern facility includes a complete in-house tool and die department and fastener distributorship.

The Automation Team is responsible for the planning designing programming testing start up and commissioning of automation systems throughout our manufacturing facilities.

The Automation Technician is responsible automated and semi-automated equipment including set-ups troubleshooting repairs training and assisting in design and construction.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting in the design and building of automation systems
  • Testing and debugging of systems prior to placing in production
  • Setting-up adjusting and programming automation systems
  • Repairing automation systems and working with vendors to maintain efficient equipment operation
  • Research and stay current with best available technologies related to automation
  • Programming of HMIs PLCs robots and vision systems
  • Provide technical support as required to ensure plant robots are operating and optimized including troubleshooting and operator training
  • Assist in creating schematics and drawings for automation systems
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 years experience in operating and/or maintaining industrial robotic equipment in a manufacturing environment or equivalent educational experience
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Able to read electrical mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic machine schematics
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Creative Positive can do attitude.

THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Technical or trade school associate degree or similar
  • Experience with Fanuc and Universal robots and vision systems
  • 3D / CAD experience - preferably SolidWorks

is a full time position in the competitive and challenging metal manufacturing field. The pay range/rate of pay for this position may vary depending on a number of factors including but not limited to the position offered location education training and/or experience.
