Job Description

SALARY: up to $66496 annually

SUMMARY:

The Marketing & Branding Specialist will play a key role in elevating the visibility and reputation of the 103-year-old historic Morris Performing Arts Center and its exciting new expansion the Raclin Murphy Encore Center. This position will lead the strategic marketing efforts for Broadway productions South Bend Symphony shows concerts comedy shows special events private rentals and community programming. The Marketing & Branding Specialist will execute creative marketing campaigns manage digital and traditional advertising oversee branding consistency drive audience engagement across multiple platforms and develop a strategic community outreach plan to improve our target audience diversity metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing & Promotion:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote Broadway shows concerts comedy events special performances private rentals and community programs.
  • Spearhead the launch and branding of the Raclin Murphy Encore Center including promotions for the new bar and lounge experience Equity of the Arts programming ETix Kiosk and additional lobby space.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager of Venues Director of Booking & Events Director of Ticket Sales & Strategy Administrative Assistant and Equity of the Arts Program Coordinator to conceptualize and execute new and current marketing strategies in their respective areas.
  • Create and manage promotional campaigns including digital print radio TV and social media advertising.
  • Design and implement ticket sales strategies in collaboration with box office and promotional partners.
  • Develop partnerships with local businesses influencers and media outlets to maximize exposure.
  • Work closely with the Director of Booking & Events to successfully execute marketing plans for all public or self-promoted events.
  • Work closely with American Theatre Guild representatives and promoters to effectively and creatively market shows.
  • Conceptualize one new innovative marketing strategy to the General Manager of Venues and Director of Booking & Events each year and implement it successfully.
  • Centralize media files and assets in Cloud-based storage.
  • Provide monthly reporting of social media website radio and email engagement to the Director of Booking Director of Ticket Sales & Strategy and the General Manager of Venues.
  • Photograph Morris events as needed for use on social media platforms.

Branding & Content Creation:

  • Ensure all promotional materials align with The Morris Performing Arts Centers historic and modern brand identity.
  • Oversee the creation of compelling graphics videos and written content for advertising and social media.
  • Maintain and grow the theatres digital presence including website email marketing to the 33000 Morris Fan Club List newsletters and social media engagement.
  • Develop and manage an engagement email strategy used to promote shows specials and know before you go emails.
  • Manage all social media platforms (Facebook Instagram Twitter TikTok)
  • Commit to expanding the social media reach and engagement for all things related to The Morris Performing Arts Center
  • Implement marketing strategies that will help diversify the audience at the Morris Performing Arts Center
  • Develop storytelling strategies that highlight the theatres history missions vision goals and values.
  • Consistently update the Morris/Palais events profile with new photos every quarter. Including live event photography.
  • Design and upload Morris digital boards interior and exterior.
  • Create Morris printed event fliers Morris in house Program Box Office posters and wall signs restroom event signs Fridays by the Fountain posters banners and other signs using Photoshop computer graphics software. Request quotes purchase orders and coordinate distribution.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager of Venues to conceptualize and manage social media/ email based fundraising campaigns for the Morris Performing Arts Center Raclin Murphy Encor Center and Equity of the Arts Programming.

Public Relations & Community Engagement:

  • Craft engaging press releases media pitches and event announcements to generate media coverage as the Morris Media Representative with monthly contracted vendors such as Lamar WVPE U93 99.1 WUBS ND Observer and more.
  • Cultivate relationships with journalists arts organizations and local businesses to enhance community partnerships.
  • Develop community outreach initiatives to connect with diverse audiences and expand patron engagement.
  • Manage media buys such as radio television print digital social media boosts.
  • Partner with Venues Parks & Art Marketing team to cross promote City of South Bend events.

Event Marketing & On-Site Promotion:

  • Advertising reconciliation for each show on or before the day of show.
  • Plan and execute on-site marketing activations during shows and events.
  • Work closely with event planners vendors and sponsors to enhance audience experience and engagement by developing custom marketing plans for individual shows/events.
  • Develop creative marketing tactics to generate buzz around upcoming performances and venue offerings.
  • Manage the 1000 member Morris Text Club and build strategies to continue to increase membership

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing Communications Public Relations or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing branding or event promotion preferably in the entertainment or performing arts industry.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing social media SEO paid advertising campaigns and analysis reporting
  • Experience managing email marketing platforms (Mailchimp Constant Contact etc.) and website content.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva Adobe Suite InDesign etc.) is a plus.
  • Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple campaigns and deadlines.
  • Passion for the arts live entertainment community and historic venues.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • This role requires occasional evening and weekend availability to support media coverage during live performances shows community events public and private events and programming
