Job Purposes

The work will involve consultancy and research type tasks carrying out yield and energy optimization projects Decarbonization and sustainability work developing AI/ML modelling support and assisting in the development of tools to help in these projects. Although the work involved will mainly focus on KBC internal projects and innovation initiatives there may also be the opportunity to work in any of KBCs other businesses when the need and requirements arise.

Responsibilities

The post holder will be provided with the opportunity to complete individual tasks supporting assigned projects be provided with relevant training in KBCs suite of upstream and downstream simulation tools and gain experience of different areas of the energy sector focusing on oil extraction and refining Petrochemicals and Decarbonization area.

Specific responsibilities to include:

  • Testing: Perform a variety of standard tests requiring a moderate level of judgment.
  • Improvement/Innovation: Accept changes at work and provide support when asked.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Support others by carrying out simple policy-related tasks and following established procedures.
  • Work Scheduling and Allocation: Organize own work schedule each day in line with changing priorities.
  • Project Management: Carry out defined project tasks.
  • Needs Assessment: Collect and prepare standard data related to ongoing issues.
  • Solutions Analysis: Assess compliance with established standards and protocols for routine inquiries.
  • Product and/or Solution Development: Support others by carrying out simple product and/or solution development and/or engineering tasks such as gathering data or preparing documents. Involves following established procedures.
  • Personal Capability Building: Develop and maintain excellent procedural or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching

Education:

  • High technical ability with an expected ongoing degree qualification in Chemical Engineering

General Experience:

  • Would like to pursue a career in consultancy or contracting
  • Be computer literate with established skills primarily in Excel and also other Microsoft products
  • Have good understanding on AI/ML modelling techniques
  • Ideally be familiar with process simulation using commercial software - not essential
