Reporting directly to the Systems Manager the Systems Engineer - IDAM will be pivotal in managing and fortifying our on-premises and cloud identity systems including Active Directory and Entra ID. Your hands-on experience in areas like Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) Privileged Identity Management (PIM) and identity automation will be key to implementing Zero Trust principles strengthening security and streamlining operations within our organisation.

This is a 12-month Fixed Term Full Time position based in any of our Group Head Offices in Sydney Brisbane or Melbourne on a hybrid working arrangement.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Manage and optimize Active Directory and Entra ID for high availability and seamless integration and drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure security and compliance by implementing Privileged Access Management (PAM) Privileged Identity Management (PIM) Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Conditional Access and enforce Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
  • Lead Active Directory migrations consolidations and upgrades and drive infrastructure projects aligned with business objectives
  • Configure and support secure authentication flows using SAML and certificate-based authentication
  • Lead problem management and risk mitigation for identity and access including identifying root causes and implementing solutions
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of Active Directory and Entra ID infrastructure configurations and procedures
  • Act as a key technical contact for Active Directory and Entra ID queries providing expert support and guidance to stakeholders

Things that work for us:

  • 5 years in Active Directory/IDAM in a large enterprise with expertise in Active Directory services security Entra ID authentication protocols and PowerShell
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft365 / Azure identity managing Active Directory migrations and familiarity with security frameworks
  • Experience with Azure B2B/B2C Defender conditional access multi-cloud environments and project delivery
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong written and verbal communication
  • Relevant certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert Azure Administrator Associate Azure Security Engineer Associate ITIL)
  • Ability to work on-site 3 days a week and participate in on-call roster including weekends with the flexibility and availability for non-business hours work and occasional travel
