A Software Engineer QA at IFS will have a background in quality assurance processes and methodologies and work with all aspects of quality assurance throughout the entire software development process. They are involved in ensuring that quality is considered early in the design process so that the product will be testable later.
As per the 7-Stages Development Process a Software Engineer QA works with both the QA Leader and development team to ensure all aspects of testing support and test coverage are included in the testing plans. They monitor every phase of the development process to ensure that the design and software adhere to company standards.
Someone in this role should also have a thorough understanding of QA testing environments and software development life cycles. They help meet sprint deadlines by breaking up the development process into attainable testing goals and relaying any issues back to the development and product teams or leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Develop Test Frameworks and Tools for the development team
- Perform continuous Quality Inspections on Technical Design Process rituals Test Strategies and Risk Management.
- Coach/train software engineers on coding testing and engineering best practices. Lead By Example is our style of work. (You do it first and show others how to do it!)
- An ability to fix defects in the code if needed and then educate the development team on prevention techniques to avoid similar defects.
- Initiate plan and drive activities related to automated testing.
- Ensure test scripts are created along with relevant test coverage
- Install and upgrade test deploy cloud/on prem modularity tests
- Active in improving and evolving test methodologies and tools used
- Initiate plan and drive activities related to manual testing
- Plan and manage manual testing for application documentation and instructions
- Maintain the manual test case repository
- Test data scripts for support with manual testing.
- Usability testing Ensure good end-user usability for the product area of responsibility
- Performance testing Ensure the products & solutions developed are performant
- Security testing Manage tests and processes related to vulnerability handling
- Monitor track and document tests
- Create documentation presentation and training material
- Engage with requirement owners and other stakeholders to
- Ensure customer satisfaction and solution fit
- Provide solution options and estimations
- Perform pre-studies and prototype new or changed functionality
- Act as a good citizen within the team technically and culturally.
- Make decisions in their area of responsibility that help maintainability and reuse.
- Initiate conversations to get the support/clarity necessary to carry out a task.
- Constructively challenge existing perspectives and proposed solutions inside the team.
- Evaluate alignment of work with strategic initiatives and company goals.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in computer science Computer Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in software quality testing or equivalent field.
- Working experience in an agile team environment.
- Able to work / be available a couple hours a day that overlap with US Business Hours is a must.
