Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Lead Software Engineer Frontend UI Architecture to drive technical excellence mentor engineers and deliver a cutting-edge cloud-native UI platform for the Visa Acceptance Platform team. Key Responsibilities
    Lead the frontend engineering team in designing and developing modular scalable and reliable UI solutions using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks particularly React.
    Support the implementation of a robust micro-frontend architecture collaborating closely with principal and chief engineers to align with organizational goals.
    Act as a technical mentor promoting knowledge sharing continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
    Champion best practices in coding design and delivery through active participation in code and design reviews.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of features across the platform.
    Contribute to the adoption and optimization of cloud-native technologies (AWS Azure GCP Kubernetes) for distributed UI platforms.
    Analyze production and non-production environments providing actionable feedback to improve frontend solutions.
    Effectively communicate technical concepts and architectural decisions to team members and stakeholders.
    Participate in proofs of concept (POCs) technology evaluations and help define architectural direction for new initiatives.
    Ensure high standards for reliability performance security accessibility and adaptability in all deliverables.
    Apply expertise in micro-frontend patterns CI/CD pipelines automated testing observability and emerging technologies such as Generative AI to drive innovation.
 

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.


Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications
10 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD OR 13 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 6 years of work experience with a PhD
At least 2 years in a technical leadership or senior engineering role demonstrating hands-on experience in UI/Frontend development.
Strong proficiency with React Nextjs modern JavaScript/TypeScript and contemporary UI design principles.
Practical knowledge of micro-frontend architectures and tools such as Webpack Module Federation Single-SPA and runtime orchestration.
Experience delivering frontend applications atop cloud infrastructure (AWS Azure GCP Kubernetes).
Background in application development with Java Spring or similar backend technologies.
Familiarity with CI/CD practices GitOps workflows automated testing and performance monitoring.
Hands-on experience deploying with Kubernetes Helm and service mesh technologies such as Istio.
Python scripting experience is a plus.
Understanding of multi-region deployment feature flagging and canary release practices.
Knowledge of white-labeling multi-tenant UI solutions and dynamic branding.
Exposure to messaging and streaming platforms like Kafka or Flink.
Successful collaboration with backend teams including API contract development BFF patterns and authentication mechanisms (OAuth2 SSO).
Proven record in large-scale multi-team enterprise software projects.
Interest or experience in applying Generative AI to improve products or team processes.


Additional Information :

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk communicate in person and by telephone frequently operate standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 160600.00 to 232900.00 USD per year which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge skills experience and addition this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical Dental Vision 401 (k) FSA/HSA Life Insurance Paid Time Off and Wellness Program.
