As our new Advanced Engineer you will be part of the Digital Engineering arm of Project Delivery & Engineering where we stand at the forefront of working towards a fossil-free future. Within our Digital Engineering division we specialize in delivering and integrating digital solutions aimed at facilitating renewable energy production and ensuring dependable operations. We oversee the whole value chain from bid acquisition to asset construction and operation. Our focus lies on Operational Technology (OT) and IT harnessing control and analytic modelling synergies to optimize engineering design through comprehensive data integration. 

As one of the key functions in Vattenfalls wind business Digital Technology Engineering is responsible for supporting wind projects operational sites and other business units in managing SCADA systems automation platforms and OT infrastructure crucial to wind farm performance and control.

Qualifications :

Your role what will you do 

As an Advanced Engineer you will ensure the reliable secure and efficient operation of SCADA systems across Vattenfalls onshore and offshore wind farms. You will play a vital role in designing commissioning and maintaining SCADA platforms enabling real-time monitoring and control of critical wind farm operations. 

You will be deeply involved from early project phases through to operational support collaborating with engineers across disciplines to ensure robust compliant and optimized SCADA solutions. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Daily operation to ensure a reliable secure and efficient operation of wind farms 

• Manage the interface between SCADA turbine control systems substation automation and central data centers. 

• Analyze and optimize system performance availability and data integrity. 

• Support troubleshooting root cause analysis and continuous improvement of operational SCADA platforms. 

• Document SCADA system architecture configurations and procedures. 

• Participate in 24/7 on-call duty rotation and provide critical support during system faults or outages. 

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders OEMs contractors and regulatory bodies throughout the product lifecycle. 

Your profile who are you 

You hold a degree in Electrical Engineering Automation Computer Science or a related field and have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with SCADA or industrial automation systems ideally within the renewable energy or utility sector. 

You bring experience in: 

• Transport of real-time and historical data from assets to data consumers 

• Communication protocols (e.g. MQTT IECIEC 61850 Modbus OPC-UA). 

• System integration between SCADA level 1 systems PLCs RTUs and control equipment. 

• Alarm and event management historical data collection and reporting. 

• Cybersecurity standards regulations and best practices for OT environments. 

• Automation mindset and knowledge 

• Fluency in English both written and spoken is essential. 

• Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum Kanban) and product-oriented thinking is desirable.
