Job Description

As the Seamgas Projects Superintendent you will be the primary support to Seamgas Manager and responsible for  managing a small engineering and commissioning team to deliver the Departments gas drainage infrastructure in readiness for operations. This requires management of safety systems that apply within the department. Development management implementation and execution of medium to long term plans and a strong discipline and compliance with the small projects framework to align with key technical outputs.

The role will be varied and exciting and will involve the following:

  • Participate in compilation of the Annual and future Business Plans 
  • Assist in the management of effective budgeting and cost control systems to meet the reporting needs of management and other stake holders.
  • Compile mine site corporate and external reporting requirements as required to a high standard in a timely manner
  • Communicating with the workforce on a regular basis through formal sessions.
  • Provide accurate planning and scheduling baselines to ensure reforecast and strategic plans are valid.
  • Track performance and status for all contracts and provide reports on the status of contracts to key stakeholders as requested or required
  • Responsible for all project management and execution within department
  • Manage all relevant contractors. This includes planning organising executing and monitoring of work and all financial planning and control
  • Overseeing the maintenance of a Master Schedule which schedules all project activities
  • Drive business improvement projects for Seamgas Department

To be successful in this position you will have the following:

  • Previous experience within the coal or gas industry
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or related field highly desirable
  • Supervisor competencies as determined and recognised by the Coal Mining Safety and Health Advisory Committee
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of professionals to deliver against targets.
  • Maintenance management skills or qualifications would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to understand functionality of business systems and extract relevant data for business purposes
  • Experience in development and control of departmental budget and expenditure

Qualifications :

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or related field highly desirable
