Overview:
Valid Ohio drivers license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection insurance eligibility driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Childrens Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. Essential Functions:
- Conducts developmental assessments to identify childrens needs.
- Collaborates to co-treat inform support educate and learn.
- Monitors progress and adjusts intervention strategies as needed.
- Provides coaching and training to caregivers on intervention techniques. Educates staff and the community on the importance of early developmental services. Supervises and mentors volunteers and students.
- Maintains accurate documentation of interventions and progress.
- Coordinates the provision of early intervention services and other necessary services.
Education Requirement:
- Bachelors degree in child development or early childhood special education or related field required.
- Masters degree preferred.
Licensure Requirement:
Ohio Department of Education PreK - 3 preferred.
Certifications:
Early Intervention Program - Developmental Specialist Certification and Service Coordinator (or the ability to obtain certification) from the Ohio State Department of DD required within first 90 days.
Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of child growth development and family systems which impact the development of infants toddlers and preschoolers.
- Ability to use assessment tools such as Bayley Battelle DECA or other developmentally appropriate assessments.
- Strong communication and teaching/learning skills.
- Maintains a knowledge base and is skillful in the use of technology and software.
Experience:
- Two years of experience with infants toddlers and preschoolers with special needs required.
- Knowledge of state and community programs for early intervention and special education preschool resources preferred.
