Job Description:

Performs work on the application of finishes to interior/exterior surfaces buildings equipment and other structures. Takes part in planning and implementing work projects involving the Paint Shop. The incumbent is responsible for meeting work schedules and service requests by providing effective and efficient maintenance workmanship and leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:
High school diploma/GED
Department of Labor or equivalent journeymen Painter certificate or associate degree or technical school certification and four (4) or more years related experience.
Valid drivers license and insurability under UT driving policies.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. works well with hands and work with close tolerance. Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
Must have knowledge and skill in leadership blueprint reading electrical wiring schematics regulations codes mathematics and hand and power tool operation .
Ability to work cooperatively with others solve technical problems read technical documents and work with dexterity is required.
An understanding of building layout terminology and university policy and procedures to be obtained post hire.

Communication and other skills:
Verbal skills to communicate with staff patients family members and management.
Verbal skills to communicate with other trades and work control.
