Job Description
Great Oaks Veterinary Hospital is located on Alabamas Gulf Coast and is a short (one and a half hour) drive to Gulf Shores beautiful white sand beaches. Great Oaks is the sister hospital to Overton Veterinary Hospital PC. The location is in a growing affluent area of West Mobile. Situated on an out-parcel of Vigouroux Marketplace (Winn Dixie shopping center) at the intersection of Snow Road and Airport Boulevard Great Oaks is in a highly visible and traveled location. GreatOaks was a start-up hospital established in 1997 as a lease hold in the shopping center. Great Oaks has been AAHA accredited since 2008. Both hospitals are privately owned.
Great Oaks is a full-service fully equipped hospital utilizing Idexx Cornerstone software digital x-ray ultrasound heated surgery table oxygen cage tonopen in house Idexx laboratory therapy laser etc. Our hospitals were built to AAHA specifications so there is no odor!
Great Oaks is seeking a full-time experienced veterinarian for long term employment to serve as our Hospital Director.
Requirements-DVM or equivalent licensed to practice in Alabama minimum of three years full time experience practicing veterinary medicine in a clinical setting. The successful applicant must be comfortable doing routine surgeries and treating common maladies.
Duties of the Director include: Staff management along with our Hospital Manager Compliance with AL-VMA and AAHA hospital accreditation requirements Inventory management along with our Inventory manager Conducting monthly staff meetings to further staff education and resources. Training/mentoring new staff and potentially new veterinarians and preceptors/interns.
Salary will be at a $125000 base plus $10000 per year for the directorship position for a total of $135000 per year. Salary will be paid as 22% of production to allow the hard worker to produce additional income above the base. Applicants with advanced skills experience and/or special interests may negotiate for a higher base salary.
$20000 sign on bonus. Paid at $5000 at the end of each years employment over 4 years.
