Teaching Assistants are vital members of the Intensive Learning Support (ILS) program. Together
with the Teacher and other faculty/staff Teaching Assistants (TAs) create a safe nurturing and
engaging learning environment both inside the classroom and throughout the school. TAs promote
academic social and behavioral learning for students in the ILS program and their peers.
Specific responsibilities include:
Implement instructional lessons with individual small group or whole class.
Implement positive behavior support plans.
Maintain a positive classroom environment.
Participate in curriculum planning under the supervision of ILS and classroom teachers.
Assist the ILS teacher with routine administrative tasks.
Fulfill duty periods and attend meetings as assigned.
Communicate in clear and positive ways with colleagues parents and other community
members orally and in writing (including email and print).
Participate in Special Olympics.
Participate in the Professional Growth Cycle.
Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned including assisting students with
toileting.
The successful candidate will:

Develop and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues students and parents.

Demonstrate an ability and desire to work collaboratively as an active member of
multidisciplinary teams.
Have the physical stamina to be actively engaged in activities throughout the day.
Demonstrate literacy in the use of technology and digital tools.

Employment Status
TheTeaching Assistant will have an ISB contract. If candidate is not EU member s/he needs to have a valid work permit.
