Job Description

40% - Change Management
  • Schedule and create the agenda for weekly Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
  • Facilitate weekly CAB meetings and document key decisions and action items.
  • Ensure all change submissions comply with established policies and procedures for IT change management.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance change management efficiency.
  • Collaborate with CAB members to support decision-making track progress and maintain accurate records.
40% - Technical Documentation & Business Intelligence
  • Work within a team to develop and implement technical and procedural documentation.
  • Maintain administer and assist in troubleshooting knowledge base systems.
  • Create and develop new documentation that details features and procedures for IT systems.
  • Provide periodic and cyclical review of existing documentation to ensure accuracy and completion.
  • Work across teams to enhance documentation practice and procedure.
  • Assist in collecting analyzing and reporting IT operational metrics to support decision-making.
15% - Strategic Planning & Enterprise Initiatives
  • Engage in enterprise initiatives and strategic planning efforts as directed.
  • Participate in project management efforts as assigned by IT leadership including documentation and process standardization.
5% - Other Duties as Assigned

  1. High school diplomaGED and four (4) years relevant professional experience ORan Associates degree and two (2) years of relevant professional experience ORa Bachelors degree.
  2. One (1) year of experience of coordinating IT change management processes or similar structured processes.
  3. Experience creating and maintaining technical or procedural documentation as evidenced in application materials.
  4. Excellent written communication skills as evidenced in application materials.


  1. Experience working with or administering knowledge base or content management systems (e.g. TDX ServiceNow etc.) as evidenced in application materials.
  2. One (1) year experience in project management or related implementation(s).
  3. At least one (1) year of professional experience with:
    • Supporting Windows or Mac operating systems.
    • Implementing and managing information technology systems.
    • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
    • Microsoft Active Directory & Group Policy
    • Troubleshooting network issues / network management in an enterprise network.
  4. IT work experience at a higher education institution as evidenced in application materials.


Position Overview
The IT Analyst plays a vital role in KU IT by serving as the Change Manager for the organizations IT change management process. This position also develops maintains and enhances technical documentation and business intelligence processes across the department. This position is responsible for organizing and facilitating communication surrounding IT changes and ensuring compliance with IT change processes creating technical documentation and supporting the IT Knowledge Base. The Analyst works closely with campus stakeholders IT service providers and management to ensure new and existing IT processes align with institutional needs and strategic initiatives.
