Health Care Unlimited Inc. is seeking responsible and reliable individuals for an Attendant position to work Night shifts weekdays and Day shifts weekends. The open position is for a Certified Nursing Aide able to work in the McAllen Area on a Part-Time basis who will be working with a male client.
The Private Duty C.N.A. will provide critical quality home-based care and living support services for an older individual helping them live full independent and connected lives in the comfort of their home.
Responsibilities will include providing a wide range of assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing dressing grooming assisting with ambulation or transferring toileting feeding and providing medication reminders. In addition private duty attendants help with instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) such as shopping meal preparation making medical appointments light housekeeping laundry companionship and other skilled and other unskilled tasks as assigned.
Qualified applicant MUST be able to assist with maneuvering a male client between 150-200 lbs. Additionally the applicant must have the ability to pass a federally mandated criminal background check possess a valid Texas Driver License and have current motor vehicle insurance as traveling to assignments is required. Selected candidate must also be willing to be considered for other job opportunities with our agency.
Preferred qualities include being Bilingual (with the ability to communicate in both English and Spanish); have a high level of patience empathy and compassion; have strong decision-making skills and have willingness to learn need. Applicants who have previous patient care experience or are certified as a C.N.A. or H.H.A. and/or have a current AHA CPR Certification are preferred.
Applicants should also be conscientious punctual and reliable; have outstanding customer service and organizational skills; have good communication skills both written and oral; be able manage their time effectively; be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation; have reliable means of transportation to and from assignments; and possess a sense of urgency when providing for the clients needs all while maintaining a discipline professional attitude under any circumstances.
