This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays leave or benefits.


Job Description
The Part-time Recreation Leader - Volunteer Resources will be responsible for assisting and leading volunteer projects in the Gwinnett County Parks which may be physical in nature. In addition this position will be collaborating with internal and external partners facilitating volunteers and assisting with data entry of volunteers and the project impacts.

Essential Duties
  • Assisting with planning and leading beautification natural resource management volunteer projects
  • Communicating and planning projects with Recreation and Operations staff
  • Performing clerical/administrative duties like answering phone calls greeting customers and processing registration and campground rentals
  • Utilizing specific software to track volunteer projects and registration
  • Working in all weather conditions
  • Cleaning County facilities
Public Speaking Duties
  • Educating volunteers of all ages on safety procedures
  • Assisting and leading community science programs and events
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours weekends and/or holidays.
Hourly rate
Salary will be $16.80 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED AND
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
  • Valid drivers license
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
  • Associate degree in Environmental Science Recreation Natural Resource Management or a related field AND
  • One year of experience working outside
