Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP AR and general ledger management
- Lead and execute the month-end close process and prepare accurate and timely financial statements
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards (e.g. GAAP fund accounting)
- Support budgeting forecasting and financial planning processes
- Prepare financial reports and dashboards for executive leadership and board presentations
- Assist with grant reporting donor reporting and audit preparation as needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally with program development and administrative teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field (CPA preferred)
- Proven experience as a controller or senior finance leader in the nonprofit sector
- Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and fund accounting
- Experience with financial planning and analysis budgeting and forecasting
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. Sage Intacct or similar) and Excel
- Ability to work independently manage competing priorities and provide strategic financial insights
