As a Technical Lead you are a key part of the engineering team when it comes to coaching and mentoring soft skills. The majority of your time is spent managing the team coaching and developing its team members and ensuring performance is managed. You will ensure that career development is in place and members of the team have goals they are working towards. You are responsible for guiding your team in building and maintaining scalable secure solutions while fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. Your role is critical in ensuring that the team delivers high-quality software aligned with business objectives and you will serve as a key conduit between your team leadership and other stakeholders.
While we prefer either Estonia or Malta office based candidates we are also open to fully remote arrangements for individuals located in CET regions.
Your day-to-day
- Lead the architectural design of systems ensuring they meet standards for scalability reliability and security. Your decisions will influence the technical direction of the entire team;
- Enforce high standards for code quality including applying the best practices such as code reviews unit testing and continuous integration;
- Encourage innovation within the team exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance the platforms capabilities;
- Serve as the expert for complex technical challenges guiding the team in diagnosing and resolving issues efficiently;
- Work closely with other tech leads teams and leadership to ensure the systems integrate seamlessly and align with the overall company architecture;
- Provide regular mentorship and guidance to team members fostering their technical skills and career development. Cultivate a culture of continuous learning;
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews offering constructive feedback to help team members achieve their professional goals;
- Create a positive and inclusive team environment where members feel valued and motivated. Address any team dynamics issues proactively;
- Oversee the distribution of tasks within the team ensuring workloads are balanced and deadlines are met;
- Participate in the recruitment process to attract and retain top talent. Oversee the onboarding of new team members to ensure smooth integration into the team;
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for the team maintaining open lines of communication with leadership and other stakeholders about progress risks and timelines;
- Collaborate with product management and leadership to prioritize work based on business needs ensuring the team focuses on delivering high-impact features and fixes;
- Ensure that the team delivers software on time and within scope. Anticipate risks and take proactive steps to mitigate them;
- Oversee testing strategies to ensure that the solutions meet the companys quality standards before deployment;
- Work with product managers leadership and other leaders to define the long-term vision and roadmap for the systems;
- Ensure that the teams work aligns with broader business objectives contributing to the companys strategic goals;
- Regularly evaluate and refine the teams processes and workflows implementing changes to improve efficiency productivity and quality.
Your background and mindset
- Strong technical background in software development (5 years);
- Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders;
- A deep commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture;
- Ability to balance technical debt with the need for new features and improvements;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills attention to detail and well organised;
- Data driven led by the appropriate use of data to get to insight and drive decision making;
- Driven by seeking to understand customers better their behaviors and the link to business drivers;
- Excellent written and verbal English communication;
- Previous experience in iGaming is a plus
