Position Title: Corporate Litigation - Arbitration Specialist

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Litigation - Arbitration Specialist to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of corporate litigation arbitration processes and dispute resolution strategies particularly in the context of managing legal matters for Fashion TV franchise outlets globally. This position will be crucial in managing and resolving complex legal disputes ensuring compliance with regulations and protecting the brand s interests in high-stakes situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Arbitration and Dispute Resolution:
  • Manage all aspects of arbitration processes including the preparation of arbitration briefs managing hearings and leading settlement negotiations.
  • Represent the company in disputes involving franchisees business partners or other third parties within the Fashion TV franchise network.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for arbitration mediation and settlement discussions to minimize the risk of litigation.
  • Ensure that all arbitration proceedings are handled in compliance with both local and international regulations and standards.

  1. Corporate Litigation Management:
  • Oversee and manage corporate litigation matters including disputes related to contracts intellectual property commercial agreements and franchise relationships.
  • Collaborate with external counsel when necessary and evaluate litigation risk and strategy.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings motions settlement agreements and other necessary litigation materials.
  • Provide expert legal advice and support to internal stakeholders to avoid unnecessary legal conflicts and resolve issues proactively.

  1. Franchise Operations & Compliance:
  • Advise Fashion TV franchise outlets on legal compliance matters particularly with respect to franchising laws intellectual property and commercial contracts.
  • Assess and handle franchise-related disputes including conflicts regarding intellectual property usage brand representation and other operational issues.
  • Ensure all legal documentation and franchise agreements align with the Fashion TV brand standards and applicable laws.

  1. Brand Protection & Risk Management:
  • Protect the intellectual property branding and reputation of the Fashion TV franchise through legal strategies.
  • Proactively manage risks that could affect the company s legal position including monitoring industry developments that may impact litigation or arbitration outcomes.
  • Advise the General Counsel on legal trends changes in the law and emerging risks in the fashion media and entertainment industries.

  1. Internal Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the marketing business development and finance teams to resolve conflicts and ensure adherence to legal guidelines.
  • Train internal stakeholders including franchise managers on legal and compliance issues related to dispute resolution and franchise agreements.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • LLB or LLM from an accredited law school.
  • Membership in the Bar.

  • Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate litigation with a focus on arbitration intellectual property law and franchising.
  • Proven track record of managing complex arbitration cases ideally within the fashion media or entertainment sectors.
  • Expertise in handling franchise-related disputes particularly in global and cross-border contexts.

  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of arbitration laws procedures and regulations (both domestic and international).
  • Excellent communication negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases and prioritize effectively under pressure.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to apply legal concepts to practical business-oriented solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working within the fashion or media industries particularly with global franchises.
  • Multilingual proficiency (preferred especially in key international markets).
