Overview
The Backend Developer plays a crucial role in our technology team responsible for designing implementing and maintaining server-side applications. With a focus on scalability and performance the Backend Developer ensures seamless integration between the backend systems and user-facing applications. This role is vital to the organization as it involves the creation of robust APIs that facilitate data exchange and enhance user experience. Collaborating with frontend developers and cross-functional teams the Backend Developer will work on deploying cloud-based solutions and optimizing application performance. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust backend architecture
- Create and manage RESTful APIs for smooth data exchange
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
- Ensure security and data protection for applications
- Manage and maintain database systems
- Write clean maintainable and efficient code
- Participate in code reviews and maintain version control
- Debug and resolve performance issues
- Implement microservices architecture for better scalability
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices
- Collaborate with product managers to define project scope
- Document development processes and maintain technical specifications
- Work in an Agile environment participating in daily stand-ups
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
- 8 years of experience in backend development
- Proficiency in Java or similar programming languages
- Strong understanding of RESTful services and APIs
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure)
- Understanding of microservices architecture
- Experience with containerization (e.g. Docker Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization
- Ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams
