3 months contract with local authority
We are currently seeking individuals to join our Assessment and Child Protection Service (ACP) team. As a member of the ACP team you will be responsible for conducting assessments and investigations related to child protection issues. The role involves working closely with Experienced Social Workers to carry out statutory assessments which includes conducting home visits collaborating with other professionals and agencies gathering relevant information and analyzing potential risks to children and young people. Upon completion of the assessment cases are either closed or transferred to the Long Term Locality Teams.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and investigations related to child protection issues
- Collaborate with Experienced Social Workers to carry out statutory assessments
- Conduct home visits and consult with other professionals and agencies
- Gather information for assessments and analyze potential risks to children and young people
- Close cases or transfer them to the Long Term Locality Teams after assessment completion
Requirements
Requirements:
- Recent/relevant previous experience working within an Assessment and Child Protection Team
- Ability to attend the office for 1 full week out of 4 for duty week and 1-2 days the other weeks
Requirements: Proven experience in quality assurance and reviewing services for children and young people Strong understanding of statutory and regulatory safeguarding requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Commitment to championing the rights and well-being of children and young people
