Job Description

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced visionary and results-oriented Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to lead our commercial operations and drive strategic growth. This executive role will oversee the Sales Marketing Business Development and Customer Experience functions ensuring consistent revenue generation and market expansion.

The CCO will play a key leadership role in shaping and executing the company s commercial strategy while working closely with the CEO and the executive team. This position is based in Dar es Salaam and carries nationwide responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the execution of the company s commercial strategy aligned with corporate objectives.

  • Oversee all revenue-generating functions including Retail Corporate Bancassurance and Alternative Distribution Channels.

  • Drive product innovation and tailor offerings to meet the needs of diverse market segments.

  • Design and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to boost customer acquisition and retention.

  • Lead digital transformation initiatives that enhance customer engagement and broaden market reach.

  • Build and nurture strategic partnerships with banks brokers agents and corporate clients to expand distribution channels.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to support product development and optimize market positioning.

  • Ensure achievement of performance targets and contribute to the company s overall profitability.

  • Provide effective leadership mentorship and development for sales and marketing teams across all regions.

  • Monitor market trends customer feedback and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.



Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in commercial leadership within the life insurance or financial services industry.

  • Proven ability to lead diverse business units including sales marketing and business development.

  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue and customer growth in a competitive market.

  • At least 5 years of experience managing distribution networks across multiple locations.

  • Strong knowledge of digital platforms CRM systems and data-driven marketing approaches.

  • Solid grasp of strategic planning financial KPIs and customer experience frameworks.

  • Minimum qualification: Associate Diploma from ACII (UK) III (India) or LOMA (USA).

  • An MBA or Master s degree in Business Administration Sales Marketing or Strategy is highly desirable.

  • A degree from a recognized university will be considered an added advantage.
