Maximizes printer productivity while prioritizing workflow from the print queues to the printers. Coordinates workflow prioritization as scheduled through TAT reports and interacts with the Production Lead and Supervisor for printer set-ups and workload. Ensures that operational procedures are being followed and troubleshoots issues as needed. Oversees the effective cross-over between shifts assist with training and along with the Production Lead and Supervisor assist with staffing decisions based on associate strengths and weaknesses.
Essential Duties:
Maintains knowledge of LS product offerings and related paper and printer requirements
Queues work to printers based on priority level based on TAT reports
Ensures the queued work to printers to print book blocks utilize the least amount of waste possible.
Communicates with leadership for recommended printer setup needs based on current work volume.
Monitors printer queues to minimize downtime.
Monitors binder buffers and communicates workflow needs regarding the shifting of labor to the leadership team
Coordinates associates with the Production Lead and Supervisor to maximize productivity by shifting labor according to workload.
Maintains and monitors system information in DMS as work is processed.
Maintains knowledge and understanding of the workflow in the Production Case and Shipping Departments
Works as liaison between Shipping Department Case Department PTO area and Color Room to gather information on packing groups for queueing prioritization
Works with the Production Lead and Supervisor to provide leadership in the Production Department
Assists in batch tracking and investigating missing or extra books and covers.
Communicates Production area status at shift change with clear and informative information necessary to minimize downtime and ensure shipping TAT times.
Monitors associate performance and provides feedback to the associate Production Lead and Supervisor

Answer production area phone and follow through with good communication; verbally by phone or email as needed.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of different queues queue filters and different printer drivers
Knowledge of printer set-ups regarding paper color roll width form length paper weight 2up/3up and B&W or color.
Knowledgeable in DMS system

Ability to be flexible/multi-task based on workflow demands
Ability to speak write and read the English language

Qualifications :
Basic/Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
1 year manufacturing experience
1 year of print workflow experience in a manufacturing setting
Essential Physical Demands
Ability to work designated 12 hour shift including overtime as required
Ability to read write speak hear see think communicate concentrate learn and work
Ability to sit at workstation for extended periods of time
Ability to work effectively using a personal computer for long periods of time
Ability to operate computer equipment including keyboard and monitor phone equipment and other necessary office equipment
