Description
Summary:
Responsible for all outbound operations this includes the process of loading managing forklift traffic verifying accuracy of shipments and maintaining a safe orderly work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Manage dock personnel to adhere to the shipping schedule in TMS to ensure on-time shipments utilizing your independent judgement for scheduling and staffing.
- Oversee the receiving sorting and storage of return bin parts from customers.
- Order receive and manage the dunnage pallets shipping supplies.
- Process billing of railcars on the CFNR and UP sites once loaded for outbound shipping.
- Ensures all Electronic Data and Advanced Shipment Notice (ASN) transactions are performed accurately by the shipping team.
- Develop and install safe work methods and practices see that safety rules are enforced and the general safety and welfare of department employees.
- Carry out company policies and programs assist and cooperate in the development of effective communications.
- Train personnel according to work instructions and procedures to maintain standards of quality assist in the determination of standards.
- Track report and monitor all key performance indicators in the department.
- Responsible for time management of employees.
- Develop/improve work instructions for the department to promote continuous improvements.
- Hold daily meetings with all shifts of assigned employees to discuss pertinent training safety customer and company issues.
- Administer all return shipments from customers in case of damage or returns.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks without losing focus.
- Must be able to meet required deadlines.
Qualifications
Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong mathematical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated Leadership and/or Supervisory experience
- Strong computer skills. Proficiency in Excel and Access
- Exceptional analytical skills
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years Shipping or Logistical experience.
- Some secondary education preferred but not required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in Seasonal food processing particularly Tomato Processing a plus.
Food Defense and Safety:
- Follow all GMP and PPE practices
Physical Demands:
- Sitting and standing for extended periods of time. On feet in elements 50% of the day.
Work Environment
- Dynamic work environment: time will be spent both in an office setting as well as Shipping Docks and Warehouse areas. Must be able to adapt to both environments. Seasonal Tomato Processing facility 24/7 for 13/- weeks per year.
