Our client is a third-party testing and certification agency with a strong presence in Asia that is looking to establish their foothold in the Czech Republic.
As such they are seeking a versatile and meticulous PED / MD Testing & Certification Expert to join their starting team on the ground. In this role you will be responsible for advising and facilitating testing and certification processes related to the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and Machinery Directive (MD).
Obtaining these certifications are the first step for their customers to receive CE markings on their products entering the EU market. You may also be asked to help occasionally with branch leadership/smaller operational duties related to company setup. Ultimately we are looking for a flexible and conscientious team player.
Please note that you do not have to be an expert in both PED and MD - either/or is fine. We accept candidates from all previous backgrounds whether they come from regulatory QA engineering or other positions.
Professional working fluency in English is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage testing inspection and certification projects related to PED 2014/68/EU and/or MD 2006/42/EC.
- Provide technical guidance to clients on compliance requirements and conformity assessment procedures under PED and MD.
- Review and validate technical documentation including design files risk assessments operating manuals and quality assurance procedures.
- Conduct audits and inspections of manufacturing processes welding procedures NDT reports and pressure tests in accordance with applicable EU directives and harmonized standards.
- Liaise with notified bodies regulatory authorities and client technical teams to facilitate CE marking procedures.
- Issue certificates of conformity upon successful evaluation of products and systems ensuring traceability and accuracy.
- Stay current on updates to EU legislation harmonized standards and testing methodologies relevant to PED and MD compliance.
- Collaborate with internal departments including quality engineering and legal to ensure comprehensive and accurate assessments.
- Contribute to internal training technical knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives within the certification team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 3-10 years of experience in PED and/or MD regulatory compliance testing and certification processes.
- In-depth knowledge of CE marking processes and EU directives relevant to pressure equipment and machinery.
- Familiarity with applicable EN standards risk assessment methodologies and technical documentation requirements.
- Experience working with notified bodies or third-party testing/certification agencies is strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical documentation and technical reporting skills.
- Professional working fluency in English - additional European languages are a plus.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Pressure Vessel Technology or a related technical field is preferred.
