Job Responsibilities
- Complete fitness assessments formulate and document exercise programs provide instruction and training for adult and youth participants in fitness programs both in an individualized and group setting.
- Instruct fitness participants on the effective and safe use of fitness equipment.
- Monitor progress of fitness program participants altering exercise programs as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of personal protected information.
- Participate in referral development marketing and relationship building with physicians hospital personnel and external agencies.
- Participate in policy and procedure development and performance improvement initiatives related to fitness services and comply with all applicable policies and procedures.
- Comply with all applicable policies and procedures including but not limited to all departmental and functional policies and procedures maintain acceptable attendance records arrive for duty punctually and follow dress code.
- Other duties as assigned
Education Requirements
- Minimum: Bachelor of Exercise Science or Related Field
- Preferred: Training or Certification in Specialized Fitness Programs
Experience Requirements
- Minimum: None required
- Preferred: One (1) year of experience as an Exercise Specialist
License/Certification Requirements
- Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association)
