Job Description
Senior Architectural Engineer with specialized expertise in faade systems to join our construction team. This role is critical for managing all faade-related works ensuring technical compliance smooth coordination and high-quality execution on site. You will act as the key interface between design consultants faade subcontractors and the site team focusing on delivering complex faade packages (unitized systems curtain walls cladding glazing metal works etc.) efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review architectural and faade drawings details and specifications for constructability and coordination with structural and MEP systems.
- Work closely with faade consultants design teams and client representatives to resolve technical and design issues
- Review and approve faade-related shop drawings material submittals mock-ups and samples.
- Oversee on-site faade installation ensuring adherence to approved designs quality standards and safety protocols.
- Manage faade subcontractors and suppliers monitoring progress manpower and delivery schedules.
- Conduct regular inspections quality checks and performance tests (e.g. water tests air leakage thermal performance) for faade systems.
- Ensure compliance with local and international faade codes standards and project-specific performance requirements.
- Support the project team in cost control value engineering and optimization of faade systems without compromising quality.
- Coordinate faade interfaces with other trades (steel concrete MEP penetrations finishes).
- Mentor junior engineers inspectors and site teams involved in faade works.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Architectural Engineering Architecture or related field.
- 10 years of experience in architectural or faade engineering roles with at least 5 years in faade-specific roles on contractor side.
- Strong knowledge of various faade systems: curtain walls unitized faades stick systems cladding glazing GRC ACP aluminum stone etc.
- Hands-on experience managing large faade packages on high-rise commercial or complex architectural projects.
- Familiarity with faade design structural principles thermal and acoustic performance fire safety and waterproofing.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Revit BIM tools and faade-specific software (e.g. Rhino Grasshopper or related).
- Excellent coordination problem-solving and communication skills.
- Solid understanding of international faade standards and testing protocols (ASTM AAMA CWCT etc.).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience on landmark or high-rise projects.
- Familiarity with sustainable faade solutions and green building standards (LEED IGBC etc.).
- Experience with faade access systems maintenance and long-term performance considerations.
- BIM coordination and clash detection capabilities.
