About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified Solicitor with 2-3 years PQE to join their established Employment and Civil Litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious solicitor to take on their own caseload whilst receiving appropriate supervision and support. Youll be working on a diverse mix of matters and have the opportunity to develop your advocacy skills through regular court appearances.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own caseload of Employment and Civil Litigation matters under appropriate supervision
- Handle County Court hearings and High Court Interlocutory hearings
- Draft simple pleadings statements of case and defences
- Complete court documentation and procedural requirements
- Prepare lists of documents for disclosure and witness statements
- Assist the Litigation team on larger complex matters
- Network and build local professional connections to develop business opportunities
- Report to the Head of Department on case progress and development
- Maintain client relationships and deliver excellent levels of client care
- Keep up to date with legal developments and best practice in Employment and Civil Litigation
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with 2-3 years Post Qualification Experience
- Proven track record in Employment and Civil Litigation matters
- Experience of County Court hearings and High Court Interlocutory applications
- Ability to draft pleadings statements of case and defences competently
- Experience preparing court documentation disclosure lists and witness statements
- Strong case management skills with ability to handle own caseload
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
- Willingness to network and develop local professional relationships
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Commitment to delivering excellent client service
Desirable Experience
- Experience in a broad range of civil litigation matters
- Knowledge of Employment Tribunal procedures
- Previous experience of business development activities
- Familiarity with case management systems
- Experience working collaboratively on larger complex cases
- Additional advocacy training or qualifications
